American poet Robert Lee Frost wrote “The best way out is always through.”
We tend to be uncomfortable with our feelings- like feeling hurt, scared or angry so we go to great lengths to avoid and escape them. But the only way past them is to go through them. We just need to let ourselves feel sad and then move on. Only this brings confidence in our ability to deal with the discomfort.
Every time we avoid our fears and tears, we simply prolong our own pain.
Why not try sitting with your pain for a while today? When you get up you might just find you leave it behind and make space for much more fun and laughter.
