Sometimes in life we find ourselves the cause of shock to others and at other times a passenger to shock. It is the gap between expectation and events which triggers genuine shock….like the sudden death of someone close or even the unexpected criticism of a colleague.
Often however people will publicly feign shock more as a tool to enable them to appear wounded or wronged because such a reaction looks plausible. I have noticed that the successful don’t burn scarce energy on choosing to make a drama out of a crisis.
Drama doesn’t just walk into your life. You either create it, invite it or associate with it.
